Internship Plan
For my internship, I plan be with a company that does micro-financing with women in different countries.  This will be completed during the fall in between my freshman and sophomore year.  This will help me be able to see the finance side and also the supply chain side of the career.  I can will be able to better know if this is the type of job for me.  This internship will help me with my future career plans because I will be helping other people start their own businesses.  The company invests small amounts of money in people who are starting a company.  The money can go a long way because it is in less advanced countries.  I will be advising them on how they will be able to pay the company back and what means they need to do so.  I also may be working with people in Russia, and that would help with my understanding of the Russian culture, and the Russian Language.  I will be able to practice my communication skills because I will be working closely with other people.

Mentoring/Networking Plan
In the past few weeks, I have made a few contacts with people in different areas of business.  This has helped me understand more what I want to do.  I plan on keeping in touch with these contacts.  Most of the contacts have told me that I can come to them with any other questions or help that I may have and I feel that I can keep a good relationship with them.  In the future, to keep updating my mentors or enlarging my network, I plan to continue to have interview-like conversations with people that I come into contact with.  I will try to always ask people for referrals and advice.  I think that the most important thing to do is to keep a good relationship with others.  You never know when you will meet them again or if you may ever be in the position to work with them.  I want to be the person that people think of for a new job.  I want to be the person that people think of that is interested in learning or trying something new.  To do this, I will always need to try to find opportunities to learn and always be a good example.

Career Vision
Going into college, I thought that I knew exactly what I wanted to do.  I wanted to become a financial advisor.  I love helping people, and I love working with numbers and other people’s money.  As I took this class, I explored the different aspects of business.  I got advice from different people in these aspects and learned a lot.  As I did this, my views of what I want to do after college changed.
I am now leaning towards CIT and supply chain management.  I love to figure out difficult problems and love the satisfaction of successfully doing this.  I enjoy to be put under pressure and trying to find the most productive and quickest ways of doing a job or completing a task.  I also like the idea that your work day is different each day.  Having different job responsibilities will make you be a bigger asset to your company.  It will keep each day lively and make it so your work day is not boring.
I don’t know right now if I am going to change my emphasis from finance to supply chain but I am going to have a cluster in CIT so that I can see if that is something that I would enjoy.  I think as I get closer to my junior year, where I start my emphasis classes, I will know better what I want to do.  I will try and get internships at companies where I can explore these aspects and get a better understanding of what is entailed in these jobs.  This will help me know if I will be able to do it or if that job is not for me.

Accomplishments
In my life I have had many accomplishments.  I would say the most substantial ones would be when I worked for a handicapped camp and took care of people with disabilities, when I completed my eagle project, and my mission in Russia.
During high school, I was able to spend a a few weeks each summer to volunteer at a camp for disabled people.  This consisted of 24 hour care of people with different sever cases of disabilities such as CP, MS, mental retardations, deafness, and autism to name a few.  The first week the camp directors tested me out to see how I did with someone with Autism.  As the weeks progressed, I was taking care of more people at once with more severe handicaps.  I took care of multiple people at the same time.  One week I took care of 2 people with a severe case of CP which confined both of them to a wheel chair.  I not only helped them escape for a week to a great time but I also learned a lot.  Here I learned how to work closely with others, how to serve others and put their needs in front of mine, and I feel that I adapted well to different situations.
I was also able to achieve the ranking of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America.  Here I over achieved and got 30 merit badges and was leader of 5-10 scouts.  In that time we won the highest award at a summer camp retreat for service and leadership.  I organized and ran a blood drive for my eagle project which had over 40 people come and participate in.  This achievement taught me great leadership skills, patience, and perseverance, among many other skills that I learned doing different merit badges.
I also served a two year mission in Russia.  Here I learned Russian in under 6 months so I was able to communicate fluently with others.  I was also chosen to be district leader a few times, a trainer of a new missionary, and a zone leader.  I was also placed in the office and organized and ran the travel plans for over 80 missionaries.  This consisted of visa planning, visa trips, and getting missionaries from one area to the next.  It consisted of working very closely to the Mission President and translating for him.  I also organized the traveling of the Mission President and his assistants to go around the mission.  Apart from the spiritual side, learning how to overcome difficult situations was probably one of the greatest things I took from my mission.  I continued to work well with others.  Even though I had some tough companions, I always seemed to be able to get along with them.  Adapting to the huge difference in culture was also very great ability that I learned here.  I served many people and found ways to be successful in that service.  I not only learned how to work well under others but I also learned how to be a better teacher and a leader.
All of these things have made me the person who I am today.  I have such a strong testimony and I feel that I have great ethics and working abilities.  I can adapt to very different situations and come out on top and complete what ever I need to.  I am a great leader who can teach and help others that might be struggling.  I feel that I have learned a lot and still have a lot more to learn.
